Short Bio

Eric has over 28 years’ experience in the telecom and IT industries in Europe and North America, with a sustained track record of delivering sales and market share growth. Eric is currently Managing Director of STAE Consulting (Telecom sales/business development consulting), and Chairman of Fill Your Diary Ltd, a UK-based start-up providing professional sales support services. He is advisory director for the Synergyze group, focused on sales outsourcing services for early stage telecoms solutions providers.

In 2006 - 2009, Eric was the Regional President for Sylantro Systems EMEA, based in the UK, achieving significant growth in revenues and multiple new customers in EMEA, including a strategic vendor selection from BT.

Eric’s previous experience includes 20 years with Lucent Technologies and AT&T, where from 2002 he had responsibility as Sales Vice-President for Lucent’s European Mobility business based in UK, successfully delivering growth in revenues to mobile operators (including the world’s first commercial HSDPA deployment, in O2) while managing major expense reductions and product portfolio cuts. Subsequently he was appointed Chief Operations Officer for the Europe Sales Region ($1.2b revenues).

Prior to these roles, Eric was the Regional Vice President for Lucent’s $4 billion North America Mobility region, based in New Jersey, with responsibility for business management and sales support for all wireless service providers in North America. He also led Lucent's global account team supporting Airtouch and its affiliates in 1997-1999 (San Ramon, California). In his first 11 years with the company, Eric performed a number of strategic planning and business development leadership roles based in Europe, including the negotiation and support of joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, as a driver for AT&T's and Lucent's globalization strategy. Eric personally supported the successful negotiations of new ventures in India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Eastern Europe and the acquisition of Philips' telecoms equipment business in Germany and France.

Eric is an UK passport-holder with a strong multinational background, having lived in 8 countries on 4 continents. He graduated in Economics & Geography from University College London, worked for 5 years in sales/sales support roles in the computer industry with NCR and ICL and he completed his MBA degree at IMD in Switzerland in 1985.

Eric and his wife, Mina, have a son and 2 daughters and are currently resident in Wokingham in the UK.
